Dr. Nick Chen of Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center recently presented early findings of his work with prolonged metronomic chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients at the Ninth International Lung Cancer Congress in Hawaii. His study found that the use of lower and more frequent doses of chemo "is associated with dramatic long-term survival in the study patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer." Read the abstract of his research, view a poster delineating the study and its results, and read stories of hope with patients Ellen Cheung and Donna Peterson.

Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center's pancreatic cancer clinical trial: In 2006, the American Journal of Clinical Oncology published an abstract by SCTWC medical director Dr. Ben Chue on a promising new treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer. A clinical trial is currently underway testing the new protocol. Click here to read the updated 2007 abstract. To see how one patient responded, click here to read Aaron Barrett's story.
